Bristol Marine

Bristol Marine is a network of full-service boatyards offering marine and boat-building services.

From Outdated to Outstanding: A Site That Reflects the Craft

Bristol Marine had outgrown their old website. As their services expanded and evolved, their online presence no longer reflected the quality or scope of their work. Their team initially explored a small-budget solution, but quickly realized that a templated approach couldn’t deliver the custom look and functionality they needed — especially for a company built around precision and craftsmanship.

What they really needed was a digital partner — not just a vendor — to help them re-imagine how their business shows up online. Throughout the project, we collaborated on content strategy, helping the team refine how they position themselves and communicate the value they deliver across their four boatyards.

Strengthening a Brand Foundation

At the initial stage of the project, they had limited logo file formats for use in difference situations. We redrew their existing logo, supplied them with a clean reversed version in high-quality vector format and established a complimentary color palette to use on the website.

Branding Each Boatyard

The existing website was mainly project-focused and lacked clarity around Bristol Marine’s full range of trades — and in which boatyards those services were offered. There was a need to identify each yard as its own facility and make it easier for visitors to contact the location of their choice.

Our Solution:

We created engaging location-specific pages with comprehensive information on services, staff and history and included a video highlight about the facilities and a lead capture form which is sent directly to each specific location.

Highlighting the Heart of Bristol Marine

Bristol Marine wanted to showcase their company’s culture on the website by highlighting the people behind the work — the skilled team members who make their quality possible, and to establish a more personal, conversational tone throughout.

Our Solution:

We designed a high-end look which integrates professional photography by Halsey Fulton, that showcases the team and their craftsmanship in action throughout the website, because you can’t showcase your team with stock photography.

Mobile Design Customizations

With most of Bristol Marine’s customers searching while on the go, a tailored mobile experience ensures that key details and directions are easy to find and effortless to navigate on smaller screens. This not only improves user satisfaction but also increases inquiries for those looking for boatyard services while on the water.

Custom Development for Better Performance

Bristol Marine’s original website had some technical and security issues, and their team needed a partner who they could rely on to fix any problems that could arise, but they also wanted to be able to make updates internally.

We built Bristol Marine’s website completely custom — no bloated themes, no buggy page builders, and no unnecessary performance drains. Instead, we developed a streamlined, intuitive content management interface that empowers their team to update the site with confidence. We also provided hands-on training and flexible, editable templates to support long-term growth. The result is a fast, user-friendly website that reflects Bristol Marine’s identity, showcases their expertise, and drives measurable traffic and leads. Working with the Bristol Marine team has been a pleasure, and we look forward to supporting them for years to come.

Creating a new website is a big undertaking, and Beth Motta Design did a fantastic job through the entire process. It is so important to get it "right", especially when you don't have a perfectly clear vision of how you want it to look in the end. Beth and her team patiently worked with us, giving us a schedule we could follow and suggestions for improvement along the way. In the end, it was a great, collaborative effort and we created a terrific website for Bristol Marine. Furthermore, Beth continues to provide prompt, reliable support for our new website if any updates are needed to keep the site fresh. From Patrick McLoughlin, President
