A Handcrafted Identity Rooted in Quality

Owning other local restaurants on the Rhode Island scene, our client knew exactly what he wanted to accomplish with this brand. He was looking for a a logo which reflected craftsmanship. The final mark centers around a detailed cross-hatch illustration of a cow which brings a classic, artisanal feel to the brand.

The direction drew inspiration from traditional butcher marks and vintage food packaging. The cross-hatch technique was intentionally chosen to evoke a sense of heritage, care, and hand-crafted quality. At the heart of the logo is a fully custom cow illustration, created using cross-hatching to add depth, texture, and visual interest. The linework was carefully refined to ensure the illustration remains clear and recognizable at both large and small sizes.

Typography & Composition

Multiple typographic solutions were presented during the design process, allowing for exploration of different tones and styles before refining the final direction. The overall composition ensures the logo works as a cohesive unit, whether used as a full lockup or broken into individual elements.

Built for Versatility

Once a typeface was chosen, the logo system was designed to adapt seamlessly across a range of applications, including menus, signage, packaging, and digital use. Both circular and non-circular versions of the logo were presented — providing flexibility for different signage formats and spatial needs.
